Anchored in Love: Hope

Everyone desires to live in peace and to have joy.  Just as there are laws in nature, for example gravity, the Creator has given us laws for living.  The problem started with the first man, Adam.  He wanted to be a god and decided to make his own laws (autonomy). All teachers understand that classrooms need rules in order to have a peaceful and joyful day.  This is known as good management skills.  Rules like respect for others and kind talk would be displayed on our wall.  The students would discuss why rules were good and what our days would look like if there was anarchy, (no rules).  Anarchy does not bring peace.  Anarchy against God does not bring peace.  True peace comes from Jesus Christ who takes his people behind the veil.  All people will experience pain and disappointment in this world.  Friends and family will betray them, they will be lied to, sickness may afflict them, someone we love will die.  There is a way to rise above the problems of this world.  It is by ordering our lives according to Jesus’ words in the Bible. People, families, churches, and governments that do this and prioritize their desires according to the design for life in the Bible will have peace and joy.  Instead of our way—do it God’s way.  This is not “postage stamp Christianity”—a little bit of obedience to his word here and there.  It is all of life—every part of it.  It involves rethinking, reordering, and rebuilding according to the blueprint for life that God has designed for his creation.

“This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.”  Hebrews 6:19 NLT
