Our summer garden is winding down now. We continue to harvest Roma, beefsteak, and Cherokee Purple tomatoes. Our naval orange tree is full of round, ripe oranges. Apples of many varieties are filling the branches and completing their fall growing time. We are sprouting many seeds for the winter months. This past weekend, we planted Swiss chard, onions, celery, two varieties of kale, cleaned out summer planters to prepare for beets, peas, spinach, various lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage. This week, all that is pictured will be in the ground for future winter eating.
